Finding Your Best Monitor for Gaming.

The best gaming monitor is the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q. It combines 1440p with 144Hz refresh rate, overclockable to 165Hz, and has G-Sync to keep your gameplay smooth.

Got a brand new GPU or CPU for your PC build, and now you’re after the final piece of the puzzle for the ultimate gaming experience? Having a powerful computer rig means nothing if you don’t have a proper display to utilize the full potential of everything that’s going on under the hood of your PC.That’s why getting an awesome gaming monitor is a sensible investment; after all, it will last longer than any other PC upgrade.

Acer Gaming Monitor 24"

This is a great monitor for the price, 144 hz and lovely picture I formerly had a ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms HDMI Gaming Monitor but this monitor is at least of equal quality for a good deal less cash.

Solid monitor for gaming plays top tier titles without screen tearing using Freesync and an R9 390. No noticeable color issues out of the box it's very bright and high contrast so adjustment is necessary. Display port connection is as easy as connecting a monitor can get and YES the Display port cable is in the box with the monitor.

I highly recommend this monitor for anyone planning on Gaming or buying a gift for a friend who enjoys PC gaming.

ViewSonic VX2257-MHD Gaming Monitor 22"

Full HD price-performance monitor built for gaming and entertainment. Equipped with VESA Adaptive-Sync Technology, this monitor's variable refresh rate capabilities virtually eliminate screen tearing and stuttering for fluid game play during fast-paced action scenes.

The setup of these monitors was extremely easy. Packaging is well thought out and there was none of the tugging and pulling to remove the monitors from their packaging that we have all experienced in the past. This is a 27" monitor so there is a little wobble on them if you are pounding down on your desk but this should be expected. If you don't want the wobble, spend a bit more and get a secured mount.

Once I had these cabled up, one with display port the other HDMI, both monitors were immediately recognized and the picture was washed out. Basic brightness and contrast are set extremely high when they come out of the box, press a couple buttons and you will have that taken care of quick. As a couple other comments have stated, the buttons are located on the rear of the display on the lower right corner. They are a slight pain to deal with but you will get through it. Within 20 minutes I had both the monitors' settings and my graphics card settings done and perfect images on both.

Acer GN246HL Bbid 24-Inch 3D Gaming Monitor Display

Acer GN246HL 24" 3D Full HD Widescreen monitor sports a super-slim profile with an X-shaped stand that lets it fit nicely in spaces of any size. Outstanding performance, eco-friendliness and smart use of energy complement the sleek design - all while staying well within budget. This Acer monitor showcases a 24" Widescreen LCD with impressive 1920 x 1080 resolution that delivers excellent detail, making it perfect for widescreen HD gaming, multimedia and productivity applications.

I love this monitor! It's the best deal out there right now. I was going to buy the asus 144hz monitor but they jacked the price up about 80 bucks for no reason, so I got mad and decided on this and I was not let down.

Switching to 144hz is the biggest noticeable improvement I have done to my computer short of upgrading video cards. Buy this monitor and don't look back, use the money you saved to buy a nice head set or something.

Viotek GN24C 24 Inch 144hz Curved Gaming Monitor

I'm upgrading from an LG 34UM68-P, which is an IPS panel, to this VA panel that the Viotek has. I was worried about the lack of contrast, etc. but wow, blow away with the difference 3440x1440 is compared to 2560x1080 and 100Hz is LEGIT. I utilized my existing DisplayPort cable and BOOM, swapped to 100Hz NATIVE. Now i'm running a GTX 1080 Ti and disabled the Freesync but enabled the Overdriver (still not sure what that does), and ZERO tearing, and no issues while I tested out Doom, The Witcher 3, and Zelda (on Cemu).

Now I do light photo editing in Lightroom so I do plan to buy a calibrator soon but for now I have the color profile set custom, and it seems fine. I definitely recommend this for people wanting to get into 3440x1440 Ultrawide, hands-down the greatest asset to my battlestation!

Journey through realms of limitless possibilities and strategize your next big step with VIOTEK’s GN24C 24” Curved Gaming Monitor. Build the perfect rig and stay one step ahead of your foes.

Whether you are battling alongside orcs, designing the next big brand, or submitting three documents at once, the GN24C curved monitor is your trusted ally. Featuring a superb 24” widescreen display, this 24 inch monitor’s curved screen captures every detail while providing you a spacious platform to embark on full-scale adventure and tackle multi-screen work. Continuously build your target streak or move on to the final boss fight while the GN24C’s low blue light protects your eyes from strain or fatigue.

ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q 27" Gaming Monitor

On a battlefield of gaming monitors, the Republic of Gamers stands strong. Even while surrounded by 144Hz pretenders to the throne, only one monitor can be utterly victorious. All hail the King of Gaming Monitors, the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 165Hz G-SYNC Gaming Display.

Things I would like to note about this gaming monitor:

  • 144Hz/165Hz are only available with Displayport. Make sure that you get one that is DisplayPort 1.2 with HBR (High Bit Rate) 2 support. There is one included in the box, but I opted to get a better quality one here: UGREEN DP to DP Cable, 4K DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable Gold Plated 1.2 Version

  • Calibrate your monitor. It looks good, but not perfect out of the box. Calibration takes this thing from good to great! A lot of people complain about Back Light Bleed, but this can be minimized my properly calibrating your monitor and turning brightness down. There are a lot of guides out there, but I used one on Tom's Hardware as a starting point.

That said, the 165Hz refresh rate with G Sync make games buttery smooth, and the 2K resolution is a nice upgrade from my other monitor. Other nice to have features include a built in FPS counter and blue light filter.
